Personal experiences with the name Gus:
Our son’s name is actually August, but we call him Gus. Everywhere I go-people stop me and say,”Did you just say Gus? OMG!!!! That is sooooo cute!!!!” We get it all the time. We know several little guys (5 and under) with the name. It must be another of those ‘old’ names that are making a comeback….

I don’t really like this name, except MAYBE as a nickname for Angus/August/Augustin, but it was in the local paper just the other day. “Gus Xavier, brother for Max and Imogen.” Kinda cute I guess.

Max, Imogen & Gus is cute! I like the longer forms too I prefer it as a nickname for Fergus or August. Hubby likes August on a girl. I have warmed up to Xavier lately too.
