Featured Name from the NZ top 100, 2009

Ella

Ella was sitting at #12 in 1999, she stayed there until 2002 when she gained five spots to #7.

In 2003 & 2004 she was placed #3.

Ella was runner up in 2005 & 2006 and then topped the charts in 2007.

In 2008 she dropped back to #3 and in 2009 was sitting comfortably at #5.

Will Ella continue to drop in 2010, I predict so.

Globally

In Australia Ella was #1 in 2008.

In England and Wales and Sweden she placed in the top five, #2 and #3 respectively for 2009.

#14 in the USA, #18 in Ireland and #24 in Norway.

Name for 26th November- Isidore

English, French, Hebrew: From the Greek name Ισιδωρος (Isidoros) which meant “gift of Isis”, from the name of the Egyptian goddess ISIS combined with Greek δωρον (doron) “gift”. SaintIsidore of Seville was a 6th-century archbishop, historian and theologian. It has never been popular in the English-speaking world among Christians, though it has historically been a common Jewish name. (Behindthename.com)
