It appeals but I tend to think of a horse’s coat colour first http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/roan

I love Bay for the tree/herb so I’m with you on that one.
Sorrel does appeal, there was a Matilda Sorrel in a BA recently but I don’t like that it comes from a word meaning “sour”. Well, at least I think it does.

Bay on a boy or girl? Does it really come from sour that puts me off a little. What about Sage? (there was a girl on private practice called this)

I met siblings once called Sorrel, Sigrid and Sam. Just putting that out there π

I don’t tend to like siblings starting with the same letter. Is Sigrid masculine?

No, Sigrid’s a girl. I know one other Sigrid whose siblings are called Claudia, Samuel and Dominic. That Sigrid goes by Ziggy, which I think is really cute π

Ziggy is gorgeous! what country does Sigrid come from?I like Claudia & Dominic Samuel not so much. I know of a wee Klaudia born last week.

I think Sigrid originates from Scandinavia, I’m not too sure though. Lemme check π Yep, it’s Old Norse, and it means ‘A Beautiful Victory’. Ziggy’s middle name is Mary, which means bitter, so I guess her name means ‘A Beautiful, Bitter Victory’. Sounds almost poetic!

Sigrid Mary has a cool meaning π thanks for looking it up π I don’t know why I thought it was masculine sounding!
