I know a Violet with a sister Lily, a Violet with a brother called Josey and a sister called Serene, and of course there’s Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck’s daughter, Violet Anne with her little sister Seraphina Rose Elizabeth.

Josey on a boy is it short for something? Violet & Lily is very floral!

No, Josey is his full name. And by the way, Josey’s sister Violet is actually her name by choice. The name her parents’ gave her his Chi-uh-star. How’s that for unusual!

My ideal would be Imogen, Ottilie, Sabine, Rafe, Henry or Inigo.
Consulting the Telegraph/Times, I’ve seen Daisy, Ella, Myrtle, Scarlet, Arabella, Isla and your mentions of Alice and Clementine with Violet. Lots of Alexander and some Felix.

Sabine always puzzles me how do you say it? Rafe by itself not short for Rafael/Raphael?
Violet & Felix is cute! I don’t get the appeal of Alexander.

sah BEEN in French.
Rafe only. It’s the old phonetic spelling of Ralph and the more common spelling for a period. Rafe derives from the Scottish Ranulf – Norse Randulf and thus forms of Randolf/Randolph. Raphael is unrelated but it Rafe can make a non intuitive nickname despite being said differently.

That is very weird Sabine, I don’t think I like it although it could grow on me 🙂 and how do you say Rafe? I may be saying it wrong I think.
