I’m not Penelope’s biggest fan but it’s fab with Violet.
Juno Elisabeth and Cecily Jane are lovely too.

Violet just went into the NZ top 100. I guess I was expecting it but at the same time, perhaps a few years down the track? I wonder how popular it will climb? Perhaps sit around where Scarlett has been for the last few years, so the 70’s. Not popular at all but used enough to annoy me!
I would definitely consider it as a middle for daughter but I want something extremely underused for a first name this time (without being over the top ridiculous). I’m a bit worried about considering Ivy as a first now Violet, Daisy, Poppy and Hazel are there. Surely, Ivy is the next one? Olive too.
I also think Ivy is that perfect compromise between top 10 floral Lily and the fast moving Isla. I think it could really take off in a few years. It would be just typical!!

Thanks for the link 🙂 I was in Timaru at my parents last night and they only have dial up we took our new car down to show them.
I think your right Ivy will climb, I have meet a couple and know my friend tossed up between Ivy, Iris & Ashlynn, she went with Ashlynn Iris Mary.
I haven’t seen how far Violet is in the top 100, but will have plenty of time to go over the lists tonight as hubby is going to avatar for the second time with his Brother :). I think also when couples hear more of names they become even more popular because they are so familiar, ie Sophie.
I think Ivy could climb higher than Hazel and Olive because of the y ending and like you say being similar to Isla & Lily.
I still have my vote for Sylvie (Ivy) Juniper I think it is lovely!

You have a great memory! Yes, that’s still an option for a daughter. Despite Sophie being huge, I don’t think Sylvie (or Sylvia) are due to take off any time soon.
I too think Ivy could be bigger than most of the plant names in there. I also think people will find it less “flighty” or “cute” than Poppy which is doing quite well also. I’ve heard lots of people say that they love Poppy but can’t take it too seriously. Violet’s only just squeezed in so don’t worry. It has a long, long way to go.
Daisy surprised me. I haven’t heard of any around here nor seen any in the Herald (or Dom post) that I can recall. Still, area is a big factor. I don’t encounter any Islas and yet it’s huge.
Zion and Chase for the boys also surprised me. I know I’ve seen loads of Aussie Chases (Chayses/Chaises) lately but very few in the NZ Herald. Goes to show that a big paper like that still doesn’t yield a great picture of trends.

Great memory for baby names 🙂 Have you got the middles sorted?
I can see the cuteness thing with Poppy, I get it with Molly, Milly & Maisie too. Mum and Dad have sheep Poppy & Maizey (Mum likes it with a z) they also have a Daisy now too. Daisy makes me think of Daisy duck in those children books.
I haven’t meet any Daisy’s either! Or many Isla’s actually oh maybe one. I got some of the girls in the right order from looking at the Christchurch Press but boys all jumbly.
Wow Zion really cool! Chase can disappear lol I don’t like that name at all.
I wish there was some way you could see all NZ papers BA’s!

I been thinking about Violet this afternoon and saying them outloud and I like Violet Cordelia the best too 🙂 How do you say Aurelia? I think I have been saying it wrong. Violet Cecily Jane is very crisp and clean.
