Name for today- Willoughby

The boy’s name Willoughby \wi-llough-by, will(ou)-ghby\ is of Old English origin, and its meaning is “willow farm“. Place name. In early England, willows were an important part of the agriculural economy as their pliable branches could be woven into baskets.

Willoughby has 3 variant forms: Willoughbey, Willoughbie and Willughby.

My Paternal Granddad’s middle name was Willoughby

I like Willoughby because of Diana Gabaldon’s “Outlander” series. He’s a complicated character with a long and awful past. Ends badly too. But I still like it, a lot. He’s middle material for me too, because he’s a bit overblown for first place.
