When people hear our daughter’s name, they always say they love it. We consistently hear people say something like, “That is a really unique and pretty sounding name, now I’m surprised I haven’t heard it used before.” We put the accent on the second syllable (ber-LIN), but there is a small contingent of people that have a tendency to put the accent on the first, as in the name Merlin (MER-lin).
Berlin is not used as a name for children in Germany.

I guess I could tolerate Berlin on a male. On a female it just seems ridiculous. I do like Dresden as a GP though. I think of those lace porcelain dipped dolls.
