I could work out my parents eye colour genes to equal my siblings and I, 4 green & 1 brown.

Hubby and I

4 /6 chance having 2 children with brown eyes,

1/6 chance of having 2 children with green eyes,

1/6 chance of having one child with brown and one with green.

Funny, My folks were brown & green (Pop, Brown, Mom, Green), I have Green eyes, but lighter in shade than Mom’s. My brother has Pop’s brown eyes and my sister has cornflower blue eyes to go with her recessive red hair! (I’m red/blonde my brother has dark brown). I had three kids with a guy who has the lightest blue eyes I’ve ever seen on a human (they look like they belong on a Husky!) and we have one with blue eyes (Leo, darker than Pop’s), One green (Simon, they’re darker than mine, like my Mom’s) and one with brown eyes (Josie got my Pop’s and brother’s shade, deep caramel brown). It’s an interesting thing, genetics.

I once had a four hour argument with a dear friend, he insisted that because he has blue eyes and his wife had blue eyes, he was only going to have blue eyed children. I argued that just because he did & she did didn’t mean a whole lot, his parents have blue & green, his brothers are blue, blue & green, his wife’s family has brown, green & blue mixed he parents have brown & blue). So his kids could end up with blue, green or brown eyes. He’s got a higher chance of blue eyes, but it’s not exclusive! If it were, Josie would have blue or green eyes, not brown! :D

PS. I followed out that link up abouve and according to that: we had a 33.3% chance of a blue eyed kid (Leo) a 33.3% chance of a green eyed kid (Simon) but a 0.0 chance of a brow eyed kid. See, genetics are a funny thing!

I also know that my genotype is bbGb, as my eyes were blue/green until I was nearly 30 when they decided to be almost completely green. I still look a bit blue eyed when I wear blue.

I also have a good friend whose parents both had brown eyes but she’s got the clearest, light grey eyes I’ve ever seen. yep. Weird.
